Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the AST sales and margin plan across Europe by developing and launching products that meet the needs of the market.
  • Identification of customer’s needs, developing products to meet these needs and project management of the end to end new product introduction process.
  • Matching the latest digital engineered surface technology with the needs of the modern market place.
  • Through desk based research and market data analysis, together with research directly with customers;
  • Identify market driven opportunities for existing products – existing product new sales channel
  • Identify market driven opportunities for Existing Product Development (EPD)
  • Identify market driven opportunities for New Product Development (NPD)
  • Work with the Sales Director - AST to commercialise and prioritise these opportunities
  • Translate these opportunities into market ready product launches following the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and new part code set up process and align with brand leaders and/or customers regarding product and packaging specifications
  • Work with T&I to prepare and maintain a 3 year rolling product development plan
  • Work with AST Operations and T&I to complete production trials and gain relevant certifications where applicable
  • Support the sales leaders/brand leaders across Europe to launch products by assisting with presentations, supporting sales calls where necessary and arranging prototype samples
  • Maintain and update cost information relating to all new and existing products
  • Maintain and update design library
  • Obtain, summarise and communicate key customer and competitor knowledge and activity
  • Coordinate the design development programme in conjunction with market need (design brief) from the brand leaders, existing design library and new design acquisition
Qualifications

Candidate profile

  • University degree or equivalent with 3 years’ experience of Product Management including demonstrable project management skills.
  • Experience of working closely with customers and throughout the market research, product development and new product introduction process.
  • Highly developed business acumen and social competencies to lead execution in cross cultural and non-hierarchical environments.
  • Structured and data based approach but at ease with not fully settled scenarios.
  • Winning spirit and thought leadership
  • Strong desire and motivation to unearth new product opportunities and deliver revenue growth.

Specific skills required

  • Very strong project management skills
  • Strong presentation in front of adverse audience
  • Very good Excel, Power Point knowledge
  • Fluent in English (German and/or French are a plus)
  • Experiencing of working across different countries and understanding and acceptance of the associated cultural differences
  • A flare for design
